Korea Line sells VLGC hit by explosion to Chinese buyers

A VLGC onboard which an explosion killed two crew during 2014 has been sold by Korea Line to Chinese interests for around $20.5m, according to brokers’ reports.

Another two crew were injured by the explosion onboard the LPG carrier  DL Calla (pictured) last year while underway from South Korea to Thailand. The explosion was reportedly due to a cargo leak and occurred while the tanker was 26 nautical miles northeast off Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia.The vessel suffered minimal damage from the explosion and continued its journey to Thailand.
