Faerder Tankers inks Daehan suezmax contract for Chevron

Daehan Shipbuilding has won an order from Norway’s Faerder Tankers for two firm 158,000 dwt scrubber fitted suezmaxes for delivery in 2020. The contract comes with options for two more tankers. Each ship is priced at $60m.

When the vessels deliver they will go on a five-year charter to Chevron.

Faerder Tankers is run by Turid Sorensen, who used to be the chief financial officer at Nordic American Tankers.

Daehan has had a busy 2018 led by aframax orders from Greek owners Tsakos, Enesel and Capital Maritime and Trading.
