Farstad AHTS wins contract with Woodside

Woodside Energy has chartered Farstad Shipping’s anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel Far Senator (24,371 bhp) for 17 months, commencing in June.

The contract includes options, but Farstad declined to disclose the charter rate or any further details.

Woodside has also awarded Siem Offshore with several AHTS contracts in recent weeks. The Australian oil and gas producer has just announced it will suspend development of its Browse LNG project, which would have seen three FLNG facilities installed near Broome in Western Australia.

The 2013-built Far Senator has been trading in the spot market since completing its last term contract in November 2015. The vessel’s latest AIS update shows the ship was at anchor in Singapore as of March 8.
