Farstad PSVs win contracts with BG

BG Tanzania has awarded three Farstad platform support vessels (PSV) Far Skimmer (built 2012), Far Starling (built 2013) and Far Sitella (built 2013) with contracts to support its drilling operations off the coast of the African country.

The contracts are expected to take place in October and are for the duration of drilling one firm well with four additional optional wells.

Meanwhile, an unnamed international oil company has booked Farstad’s PSV Far Scotsman (built 2012) on a contract that will commence in October and run until March 1, 2017.

The same company has also extended its charter of the PSV Far Spica (built 2013) until March 1, 2017, plus an additional seven-month optional period.

“The above contracts show the attractiveness of our PSV 08 series for both exploration and production support in various geographical areas, and we appreciate the confidence shown by our clients to Farstad Shipping in the prevailing challenging market conditions,” Karl-Johan Bakken, CEO of Farstad Shipping, said in a release.

The financial terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
