Fesco forms intermodal LNG shipping partnership with Chinese firms

Russian owner Fesco has entered into a partnership agreement with Chinese companies Best Ship Energy Management and Zhejiang Rui Neng Ocean Shipping to jointly develop intermodal transportation of LNG in tanker containers from Russia to China.

FESCO will develop logistics schemes for transporting tank-containerised LNG from the Russian Far East to China using either land-based regular services to the Northern provinces or liner services to the Southern and Central Chinese Provinces. FESCO is also ready to provide its rolling stock and vessels.

The two Chinese companies will provide tank containers and will be responsible for LNG sales in China.

The three companies also plan to expand their network to other destinations in the Asia Pacific in the future.

Zhejiang Rui Neng Ocean Shipping specialises in LNG tank transportation in the domestic market, while Best Ship Energy Management mainly transports LNG bunker fuel.
