Fire finally extinguished on Maersk Kampala

Cairo: After six days the fire on the Maersk Kampala south of Suez was extinguished yesterday. The fire started in a container at the bottom of a stack in the fore part of the ship and spread to other boxes. The ship will now head to a nearby port and the cargo will be shifted onto another Maersk ship. An extensive repair of the Maersk Kampala will then need to take place.  [05/09/13]
