Fire hits Petrobras FPSO

A fire broke out and later extinguished on Thursday on a Petrobras FPSO offshore Brazil, according to Reuters which cited the union representing oil platform workers.

The blaze on the P-48 vessel in the Barracuda-Caratinga field in the Campos Basin northeast of Rio de Janeiro started in the early afternoon as the platform was being shut down.

A statement from Petrobras, Brazil’s troubled state oil firm, said it was not clear when the platform would be able to restart production.
