FMC names five companies operating unlicensed shipping services

The US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) says in a release that it has recently received complaints and questions about five companies that appear to be shipping cargoes without appropriate licences, primarily between the US and Brazil.

In its release the FMC noted that customers should work with properly licensed international shipping companies when shipping personal effects and automobiles or they risk outcomes such as happened in these instances where the goods were not received despite payments being made.

The companies named were: Fastway Moving and Storage Inc. DBA Dream Cargo; Fastway Moving and Services Corp.; Fastway Moving and Trading Inc.; Donadel Auto Transport LLC; and Abreu Logistics USA LLC.

“They are not authorized to provide international ocean shipping services,” the FMC said.

Washington D.C.-based FMC is an independent federal agency responsible for the regulation of the country’s ocean-borne transportation.
