Foremost Group adds four newcastlemaxes at Waigaoqiao

New-York based bulker owner Foremost Group has signed shipbuilding contracts with CSSC-affiliated Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for the construction of four 210,000 dwt newcastlemax bulk carriers. The order is the yard’s first order for 2018.

Foremost Group had ordered a total of six bulk carriers at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding in 2017, four 180,000 dwt capesize bulkers in June and September and two 210,000 dwt newcastlemax bulkers in December.

Additionally, Foremost also placed orders for two 85,000 dwt bulkers at Japan’s Oshima Shipbuilding in August.

Foremost Group currently operates a fleet of 18 dry bulk vessels.
