Foremost Group orders bulker pair at Oshima Shipbuilding

New York-based dry bulk owner Foremost Group has signed shipbuilding contracts with Japan’s Oshima Shipbuilding for the construction of two 85,000 dwt bulk carriers.

The company said the new order is part of its fleet optimisation plan and delivery of the vessels is scheduled for 2019. Financial details were not disclosed.

Foremost Group currently has another two bulkers under construction at Oshima Shipbuilding and at the end of June, it also ordered two 180,000 dwt bulkers at China’s Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.

Foremost Group currently operates a fleet of 16 bulkers.
