Foremost Group orders kamsarmax pair at CSSC Chengxi

US-based dry bulker owner Foremost Group has placed an order at CSSC Chengxi Shipyard for the construction of two 85,000 dwt kamsarmax bulk carriers.

Delivery of the two vessels is scheduled in 2021.

Foremost Group has been expanding its fleet in a significant way over the past couple of years, having ordered a series of newbuildings at China’s Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and Japan’s Oshima Shipbuilding.

In November, the company also secured $41.14m financing from First Bank of Taiwan to support the construction of two newbuildings at Oshima.

Foremost Group, controlled by the Chao family, owns a fleet of 17 bulkers, and following this latest order the company has a total of 16 bulkers on the orderbook.
