Former China Shipping Industry executive charged for corruption

A local People’s Procuratorate in Jiangsu has filed criminal charges against Wang Yiling, former vice general manager of China Shipping Industry (Jiangsu).

According to the indictment, Wang has charged with a series of corruption activities including taking bribes, embezzlement and abuse of power between 2007 and 2018, following his arrest last month.

China Shipping Industry (Jiangsu) was integrated into Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry following the merger between Cosco and China Shipping Group. In January, Cosco said it has recovered RMB12.56m ($1.8m) in a corruption crackdown.

Last year, China’s National Audit Office discovered a total of 36 irregularities and illegal practices at Cosco.
