Former CSIC senior official joins Yangzijiang

Dalian: Zhang Tao, former vice general manager of state run shipbuilding giant China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), has resigned from the group and joined Singapore-listed private shipyard Yangzijiang Shipbuilding as vice general manager.

Zhang, one of the best known names in Chinese shipbuilding, started his career at CSIC from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC) where he rose to become the vice president of DSIC before he was promoted to vice general manager of CSIC in 2011. Zhang was often the man put forward by CSIC and DSIC to meet and negotiate with Western owners coming to China to order ships.
