Former workers fail in case against GC Rieber

Norway’s Gulating Court of Appeal has ruled in favour of GC Rieber Shipping, confirming a decision made by Bergen District Court last year to dismiss a case against the company lodged by 17 former employees.

The workers took legal action after their employment was terminated when GC Rieber Shipping Group decided to liquidate their internal crewing company GC Rieber Crewing.

Each of the parties are liable for their own legal costs, and the latest ruling may be appealed within one month.
