Formosa Plastics orders MR tanker trio

CSSC Offshore Marine, formerly Guangzhou Shipyard International has received an order from Taiwanese owner Formosa Plastics Marine for three 50,000 dwt MR tankers. Delivery of all three units is due in 2019. The order marks the first new ships for Formosa Plastics, one of Taiwan’s largest conglomerates, in many years.

Last week, Vista Shipping, a joint venture between Denmark’s Hafnia Tankers and CSSC, ordered two 75,000 dwt product tankers at the same yard.
