Four days into the new job and Christensen signs for tanker duo

Singapore: Wasting no time since his appointment as ceo, Lars Vang Christensen has put pen to paper for a pair of 5,000 cu m LPG carriers to be built at Sasaki Shipyard in Japan. The head of Epic Pantheon International Gas Shipping (Epic) said: “"We are pleased to have contracted with Sasaki Shipyard, who also built two of our existing ships of the same size. The expansion of our fleet with modern and fuel-efficient high quality newbuildings substantiates our long standing commitment to meet growing requirements and needs of our customers.”

The ships will be delivered early next year taking Epic’s owned fleet to 18 owned and six on bareboat charter.

Christensen joined Epic last week.  The company was formed this January following the merger of Epic Shipping Holdings and Pantheon.  [28/05/13]
