Fred. Olsen Windcarrier awarded turbine installation contract off Scotland

Fred. Olsen Windcarrier has been awarded a contract by MHI Vestas Offshore Wind for the transport and installation of 100 wind turbines for the Moray East project, off Scotland.

The turbine installation is scheduled to commence in 2021, and Fred. Olsen will deploy a Tern Class vessel for the project.

Flemming Ougaard, chief operations officer at MHI Vestas, commented: “The relationship between MHI Vestas Offshore Wind and Fred. Olsen Windcarrier has always been very good. Fred. Olsen Windcarrier brings the right team and vessels for our jobs and we look forward to working with them again on the Moray East project. We are confident that with Fred. Olsen Windcarrier as our installation partner we will have an efficient and safe installation of our wind turbines.”

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
