Fred Olsen Windcarrier secures German wind turbine installation contract

Fred Olsen Windcarrier has been awarded a contract by Siemens to transport and install wind turbines at the EnBW Hohe See wind farm, located 90km from shore in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

The first turbine expected to be installed in the first half of 2019.

EnBW signed a contract with Siemens for the supply and installation of 71 wind turbines and foundations for the EnBW Hohe See offshore wind farm.

“This new contract will continue to reinforce our prime position in the German North Sea and strengthen our relationship with Siemens,” said Martin Degen, commercial manager of Fred Olsen Windcarrier.

Fred Olsen Windcarrier and Siemens have previously worked together on Riffgat and Butendiek wind farms, in 2013 and 2015 respectively, and they will also work on the Veja Mate wind farm in 2017.
