French authorities raid Bolloré HQ

France’s Bolloré Group is under investigation over port concessions handed out in West Africa. Authorities have searched the headquarters of the company this week.

Specifically, Bolloré is being investigated for its links to Spanish casino and hotel firm Pefaco, whose business in Africa has been under investigation by the French financial crimes unit for the past four years.

French officials are looking to see if Pefaco helped Bolloré win concessions in Togo in 2010 and in Guinea the year after.

Bolloré, which operates 17 ports in Africa, has denied any links to Pefaco.
