Frontline offloading naphtha from damaged Front Altair

Frontline has deployed the LR2 Front Vega to complete a ship-to-ship transfer (STS) of the naphtha cargo onboard the damaged Front Altair. The two ships are currently alongside each other off Fujairah, according to the latest satellite data from MarineTraffic with the operation to move the 75,000 tonnes of naptha likely to be concluded later today.

Meanwhile, the STS operation to take the methanol cargo off the Kokuka Courageous went without a hitch on Friday.

Both the Front Altair and the Kokuka Courageous were targeted while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on June 13. The two tankers will require extensive repairs following large explosions around their hulls.
