Fujairah adding oil facilities

Dubai: Fujairah is bolstering its oil facilties. The UAE’s only port on the Arabian Sea will build greater storage and more VLCC berths so that Fujairah can handle 12m barrels of oil, 50% more than its current capacity. Four new 1m barrel tanks are being built while a new giant VLCC berth is also under construction with a view to completion in mid-2016. Another VLCC berth is also being mulled, local authorities said. Fujairah is the world’s second largest bunkering hub after Singapore.  [24/09/14]
