Fujian Guohang orders up to eight bulkers at Wuchuan Heavy Industry

Chinese bulker operator Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping has placed an order at CSIC-affiliated Qingdao Wuchuan Heavy Industry for the construction of three 86,000 dwt bulk carriers.

The total value of the contract is RMB600m ($90.7m), and also includes options to construct an additional five vessels of the same type.

The ships will be operated by Fujian Guohang’s subsidiary Shanghai Guodian Shipping.

Delivery of the first vessel is scheduled in August 2019, while the remaining two are expected to be delivered in October 2019.

Fujian Guohang currently operates a fleet of 38 bulkers.
