Fuxing Shipping sells elderly handymax bulker

Chinese bulker owner Zhejiang Fuxing Shipping has sold 1985-built handymax bulker Fu Xing 6 via an auction on Zhejiang Shipping Exchange.

The 26,700 dwt vessel was sold for a price of RMB15.4m ($2.23m), slightly less then the fair market value of $2.9m according to MSI.

Fuxing Shipping has been undergoing a fleet optimisation program. and the vessel is the third elderly vessel it has sold in the past year having sold Fuxing 7 and Fuxing 9.

Since 2018, Fuxing Shipping has acquired three bulkers including the most recent purchase of 2001-built supramax Jin Li from Jinhui Shipping last month. It currently operates a fleet of 12 bulkers.
