Gas cylinder explosion injures eight in Vietnam

A gas cylinder exploded in a cargo bay of a bulk carrier being repaired in northern Vietnam yesterday, an accident which saw eight men rushed to hospital.

The 68,000 dwt Oriental Glory was being repaired at Nosco Shipyard when the accident occurred yesterday morning. The ship belongs to Hanoi-based Phuong Dong Shipping and Trading JS Company.

The blaze was quickly put out, and investigations are under way into how the accident occurred.
