GasLog orders LNG carrier pair for Cheniere charters

Monaco-based gas carrier operator GasLog has placed an order at South Korean yard Samsung Heavy Industries for the construction of two 174,000 cu m LNG carriers. The order comes after Cheniere Marketing International exercised its option for two new charter agreements, each for a firm period of seven years.

The agreements follow Gaslog signing two seven-year charter agreements with Cheniere in August and ordering a pair of 174,000 cu m LNG carriers at the yard.

Delivery of the first two vessels are scheduled in late 2020.

GasLog currently operates a fleet of 25 LNG carriers and has another nine on order.
