Gazpromneft-Lubricants: International expansion coming up

Watch out for the Gazprom lube brand to make a significant splash across the world next year.

While Gazpromneft-Lubricants continues to hold a dominant position on home soil in Russia, the aim for 2018 is to push ahead with overseas expansion.

Roman Miroshnichenko, head of marine lubricants business at Gazpromneft-Lubricants, tells Maritime CEO: “In 2018, we are going to market a new brand of Gazpromneft Ocean marine lubes worldwide. Marine oils produced by Gazpromneft-Lubricants have already become the number one on the Russian market, now our business is ready to show itself in the international arena.”

When questioned as to what owners need to be aware of when choosing a lube supplier at the moment, Miroshnichenko is quick to dive in with a series of suggestions.

“Every single detail matters in the maritime business,” he says, “and the supply of marine lubricants is not an exception. The product reliability, the approvals of installed engines manufacturers, and wide product range that should include not only engine oils but also secondary grades for all kinds of onboard equipment are equally important. The supply geography also matters, however, the total number of ports is less important than the company’s presence in specific areas through which the routes of the client’s ships are laid out.”
