GC Rieber Shipping confirms new CEO

GC Rieber Shipping has confirmed Einar Ytredal to the role of CEO on a permanent basis.

Ytredal was appointed acting CEO in September after Christian Berg had resigned from the company.

Ytredal has been with the GC Rieber since 2007, having served as CFO since 2011. He will be replaced as CFO by Øystein Kvåle, while Christoffer Knudsen has been promoted to CCO.

Paul Chr. Rieber, chairman of GC Rieber Shipping, commented: “We are very pleased to strengthen our management team with highly competent and experienced people who have extensive knowledge of GC Rieber Shipping’s business. They will play an important part in developing our company in line with our long-term strategic ambitions.”

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
