GC Rieber Shipping gets new partner on ice-breaking tug

Oslo: GC Rieber Shipping has said that joint venture partner Prisco has sold its 50 percent ownership share in ice-breaking tug vessel Polar Pevek to Mass Capital Offshore, an offshore oil and gas investment fund.

The vessel is on a long-term charter to Exxon Neftegas until 2021, and was purpose-built for GC Reiber and Prisco in 2006 to provide support to tankers carrying oil from the Sakhalin I offshore project in eastern Russia.

Irene Waage Basili, ceo of GC Rieber Shipping, commented “I would like to take the opportunity to thank Prisco for a good and professional cooperation over the last decade in this project, at the same time, I look forward cooperating with Maas Capital Offshore as our new partner”.

GC Rieber Shipping operates 13 special purpose subsea, ice/support and marine seismic vessels.
