GEFO adds four chemical tankers at AVIC Dingheng

German owner GEFO has signed shipbuilding contracts with China’s AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding for the construction of up to four 7,000 dwt chemical tankers.

The latest contract includes firm order for two vessels and options for another two. Delivery will start from 2021.

GEFO also ordered six 3,600 dwt chemical tankers at AVIC Dingheng in March with delivery scheduled in 2020 and 2021.

Hamburg-based GEFO mainly operates on the Rhine and between European coastal ports with a self-owned fleet of ten small chemical tankers.
