Genco puts seven supramaxes on the market

New York-headquartered dry bulk shipowner Genco Shipping & Trading has placed seven of its supramax bulkers up for sale.

Brokers are circulating Genco Normandy, Genco Lorraine, Genco Loire, Baltic Jaguar, Baltic Panther, Baltic Leopard and Baltic Cougar. The Genco Normandy was built in 2007, while the other six vessels were built in 2009. All were constructed at China’s Yangzhou Dayang Sinopacific.

Genco currently has 20 supramaxes in its fleet, and the seven put up for sale are the smallest at around 53,000 dwt. They have a total value of just under $70m according to VesselsValue.

Genco has been steadily offloading vessels since the middle of last year, selling eight vessels consisting of two handysizes, a single handysize, supramax and ultramax in three separate deals and three panamaxes as announced at the end of 2018.
