General cargo vessel sinks off Quanzhou

A Chinese general cargo vessel, Shenzhou 33, capsized and sank near Quanzhou in Fujian yesterday in a severe storm.

The local maritime safety administration sent a rescue team and saved all crewmembers of the vessel who had managed to get into lifeboats.

Currently the authorities have informed the nearby vessels to avoid the wreckage site and started investigations into the incident.
