Gestion Maritime exits tanker market with double sale to Hafnia

Monaco-based Gestion Maritime has exited the MR sector with the en bloc sale of two ships to clients of Hafnia in Singapore, according to broker sources.

The 2015-built sister ships Stenaweco Andrea Corrado and Stenaweco Caterina Corrado, both with a capacity of 49,940 dwt, were sold for $31m each.

Once these two ships will be delivered, Gestion Maritime will control a fleet of six panamax and kamsarmax bulkers.

At the same time Hafnia has also sold one of its older vessels, the 2004-built Hafnia Atlantic for $9.9m to Chinese interests.

Hafnia Tankers, led by Michael Skov, completed its merger with BW Tankers in January this year creating one of the world’s largest MR tanker fleets.
