Gestioni Armatoriali takes MR tanker from Latvian Shipping

Italian owner Gestioni Armatoriali has added one more tanker to its fleet after acquiring the 2007-built MR tanker Kandava from Latvian Shipping.

According to shipbroking sources, Gestioni Armatoriali paid $11.3m for the 37,300 dwt Hyundai Mipo-built tanker.

Gestioni Armatoriali sealed a debt restructuring plan with its banks last year which saw the company transfer all its ships – nine bulkers and three tankers- to Deutsche Bank and Attestor Capital.

The company came back to the market in November last year after the acquisition of two MR1 tankers from Latvian Shipping.
