Giant Jubail refinery up and running

Doha: The $8.5bn joint venture between Saudi Aramco and France's Total, the Saudi Jubail refinery, with a capacity of 400,000 barrels a day has begun operations and will issue the first shipment of petroleum products by the end of September.

The giant refinery is expected to replace most of Saudi Arabia’s import requirements by next year allowing it to export far more refined products.  [12/09/13]
