GMS behind Voge Enterprise acquisition

Dubai-headquartered GMS, better known as a cash buyer of ships for recycling, has emerged as the new owner of 2011-built panamax bulker Voge Enterprise.

Brokers reported last last year that Germany’s H. Vogemann had sold the Chinese-built vessel for just under $15m.

Splash can confirm that the ship recycling firm’s principals are behind the acquisition, adding the bulker to their fleet of operating vessels. It is believed that this latest addition will be renamed Lila Enterprise.

According to VesselsValue, GMS has picked up a bargain with the ship valued at $16.82m.

GMS currently has three ultramaxes, one handysize bulker and a feeder containership in its fleet.
