Golden Union hungry for capesizes

Weeks after Theodore Veniamis-led Golden Union was revealed as the taker one of Hanjin’s baby capes, taking 114,650 dwt Hanjin Buchanan and renaming it Horizon II, the active Greek owner is linked to a new ship by usually reliably broker archives.

This week Golden Union is said to have snapped up the nine-year old Shin Zui for $15.07m, a price that is in line with what online portal VesselsValues.com prices the ship at.

Golden Union has around 40 large bulkers in the water and like other Greek owners is well prepared to benefit from any upturn in the dry cargo segment.
