Great Harvest Maeta denies boxships deal

Hong Kong-based bulk carrier operator Great Harvest Maeta has officially denied that the company has acquired two secondhand containerships.

Alphaliner reported that Great Harvest Maeta has acquired the 3,534 teu sister ships HS Wagner and HS Debussy from German owner Hansa Treuhand.

Great Harvest Maeta said it has not acquired any containerships and has not entered into any agreement or negotiations with any parties for such acquisitions. “The Group does not have any present plan or intention to engage in the container shipping business,” Great Harvest Maeta said in a release.

VesselsValue shows that the two vessels are now owned by Celsius Shipping, which would mark an entry into the contrainership sector for the fast growing Danish owner.
