Hong Kong: Hong Kong based ship charterer Great Harvest Maeta Group Holdings announced that United Edge Holdings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the group, has entered an agreement with New Sea Star Steamships (Hong Kong) to acquire a secondhand 93,315dwt panamax bulker for $22.8m. The vessel will be delivered during the period from July 1 to August 10.
The group said it has been looking for suitable secondhand dry bulk vessel for acquisition to take advantage of favourable vessel valuations in the market. The purchase of the vessel will be funded by bank financing and internal resources of the group. [23/05/14]
