Greathorse Shipping acquires resale chemical tanker from Eastern Pacific

Brokers report Shanghai-based Greathorse Shipping, part of Tiger Group Investments, has acquired a resale chemical tanker from Eastern Pacific Shipping for $30.4m.

The vessel was named as the 21,756 cu m Scarlet Ray, under construction at Japan’s Kitanihon Shipyard and scheduled for delivery in 2016. It was one of six vessels ordered in 2014 by Ace Quantum Chemical Tankers, a joint venture between Eastern Pacific Shipping and Ace Tankers.

Officials at Greathorse declined to comment on the deal when contacted by Splash today.
