Greenland Petroleum orders 4 semi-submersibles with CSBC

Taipei: Singapore-based Greenland Petroleum has ordered four 65,000-dwt semi-submersible heavy-lift cargo vessels to be built at Taiwanese state-owned shipbuilding company, CSBC, according to Chen Lie-Lin, president of CSBC.

The four vessels are scheduled for delivery during the first three quarters of 2017.

While the price of the contract can not be revealed, the deal will be profitable to the company, Chen said, who also added that the company is eyeing a move into building vessels supporting the offshore wind power industry. [08/10/14]
