GSP awarded drilling contract by Black Sea Oil and Gas

Romanian offshore drilling contractor GSP Offshore has been awarded a contract by Black Sea Oil & Gas for the drilling of two offshore exploration wells located in the XV Midia Shallow Block Romanian Black Sea continental shelf.

GSP Offshore will deploy its jackup drilling rig GSP Uranus for the work, which is scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2017. Auxiliary services such as aviation, logistics and offshore service vessels to support the drilling operations have also been contracted with GSP.

Black Sea Oil and Gas is currently obtaining all the approvals required to develop the Midia Gas Development Project. Once this has been achieved then it will take a further two years to build the offshore platform, drill the development wells, lay the offshore and onshore pipelines and construct the gas treatment plant.
