Guangdong seeks cooperation with Southeast Asia ports

Guangzhou: The major import and export Chinese province, Guangdong, is looking for more port and shipping route-related cooperation with Southeast Asia ports, said Deng Yong, deputy secretary-general of Port Association of Guangdong.

Guangdong intends to establish friendly port partnerships with Southeast Asian ports, develop new shipping routes and is considering to jointly construct port projects, according to Deng.

Guangdong is one of the busiest regions for international trading business with the ports in the province completing 1.308bn tons in cargo throughput last year. [03/11/14]
