Christian Hagemeyer has made an early start to his new role at DVB Bank on the board of managing directors, assuming responsibility for risk management.
Hagemeyer was expected to commence in April 2017 when DVB first announced his appointment in August. He joins DVB from Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen where he was responsible for the bank’s international credit risk management.
DVB’s board of managing directors expands from three to four members with Hagemeyer’s commencement, and he will play a key role given the bank’s intent for 2017 to “reduce the increased risk costs in the shipping finance and offshore finance” in order to avoid further losses.
The German bank posted losses of €27.3m for the first nine months of 2016.
