Haifa port gaining business at expense of Syria

 

Cairo: The Israeli port of Haifa recently witnessed sustained traffic of Turkish and Jordanian commercial trucks, as a substitute for the port of Latakia in Syria, which now does not work efficiently enough as a result of the civil war there.
 
Haifa is becoming a transit hub for goods between Arab countries and Europe with volumes jumping in double digit figures this year.   [12/08/13]
