Hanjin lays off staff from its US HQ

Some 127 workers have been laid off from Hanjin Shipping’s American headquarters in Paramus, New Jersey, reports say.

The redundancies were made on September 30 and reported to the state Department of Labor on Thursday, according to NJ.com.

In the notice, Hanjin said the layoffs were due to its bankruptcy petition. The company said it intends to pay workers for accrued vacation days.
