Manila: The Philippines has one of the word’s ten largest shipyards, according to new data from London.
Subic Shipyard of Korea’s Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction ranked tenth among global shipyards for the first time, data from UK broker Clarkson shows. The ranks are taken in cgt terms. Hanjin’s Subic yard has amassed 1.757m cgt of work.
The Subic yard is one of the world’s largest in area space and last month secured its first VLCC contract. Its orderbook is now around 50 ships worth more than $3bn. [28/05/14]
