Hapag-Lloyd and UASC complete merger

Hapag-Lloyd and United Arab Shipping Company have completed their merger.

The new Hapag-Lloyd, one of the top five global carriers, will take a while to operate as a single entity.

“For the immediate future, the two companies will continue to operate independently as we work to integrate our internal systems and processes as quickly as possible,” Hapag-Lloyd said in a statement.

The first UASC services will be transferred to Hapag-Lloyd from mid-July with the rest following soon after.
