Havila Shipping lays up AHTS pair, cuts staff

Norwegian offshore specialist Havila Shipping has said today that it has decided to lay up AHTS vessels Havila Mars and Havila Neptune.

As a consequence of the lay ups Havila said it will give notice to some employees within the company as well as reduce crew hiring. The company said that the decision is due to market conditions, which it does not expect to improve in the short to medium term citing the main challenge as the supply side of the equation.

Havila has a fleet of 22 vessels, primarily made up of AHTS and PSVs.
