Hermes opts for up to eight Chinese kamsarmaxes

Clarksons Research is reporting in its latest weekly report of a bumper bulker order coming from Greece.

Hermes Marine Management is tied for a firm four plus four options of 82,000 dwt kamsarmaxes at Cosco Heavy Industries’ Yangzhou yard, formerly known as CIC Jiangsu.

Delivery of the first vessel is due in the second quarter of 2020, with the remainder of the firm vessels scheduled to be delivered throughout the same year. No price has been revealed.

Hermes is a vessel owning unit belonging to Ghandour Ghassan. Before this big bulker order its sole ship in its fleet was a VLCC, the Chole V.
