HNA Group’s cruise ship Henna detained

Shanghai: China's first luxury cruise liner Henna, owned by HNA Group, has been detained at a port on the South Korean island of Jeju.

The Henna, with 1659 passengers and a crew of 650 on board, was scheduled to sail from Jeju to Incheon, however, it was detained before departure by a Jeju court, which received a seizure application on claims of legal disputes from Jiangsu Shagang Shipping due to “the HNA Group refusing to fulfil a US$58m arbitration.”

HNA Group has arranged chartered planes to bring back the passengers on the detained ship, however, the debt dispute with Shagang Shipping has not yet been solved. [16/09/13]
